Limeside Residents with their cameras
Residents of Contour Homes have been given the opportunity to gain new IT and photography skills and meet members of their community with shared interests.
Members of Limeside’s community have enrolled on a photography and IT course funded by the Big Lottery. The funding has enabled Limeside’s ‘Friends of the Park’ to purchase photography equipment and hold further courses across the area.
Participant of the course, Rami Kabbani said: “I have learnt a lot from this course; it has enabled me to build develop new skills and build on existing ones. I have also met some really nice people and this has helped my boost my confidence considerably.”
Sarah Furbey, Contour Homes Community Development worker said: “This course has been fantastic, residents have now got the skills to use a camera and upload them onto a computer. The group has shared common interests through photography and they intend to keep in contact using the social media skills that they have gained.
A photography exhibition will be held on Monday 19th March at 6 – 8pm, showcasing photographs from various community events in Limeside such as the ‘Royal Wedding Party in the Park’ and the ‘Hollinwood Together Festival’. Prints will be available to purchase at the exhibition at Avenues Community Hall, Limeside.
