Accent raises £11,000 for Horden volunteer groups

Accent Foundation's work with Horden North Residents' Association has secured a grant of £500 for Horden North Youth Café.  

The grant, which was awarded by Castledene Shopping Centre, now means Accent has secured £11,000 in total for volunteer run groups and their youth cafes.

Grants have paid for community venues and entertainment equipment for kids and teenagers, which takes them off the streets and gives them meaningful activities for socialising under the supervision of qualified youth workers.

Youth Cafe sessions attract up to 70 young people.

Youth cafes form an important part of Accent Foundation's community investment and sustainability strategy which brings together regeneration and community development activities.
