Spire Homes' office in Rushden
Spire Homes have decided to save money on rising fuel costs and help save the planet too - by installing solar panels to 11 of their housing schemes and also to their main office in Rushden.
The office panels are expected to generate approximately 8300kwhrs of electricity per annum, which could save up to £1000 per year on Spire’s energy bill and also reduce the offices’ carbon footprint by 5885kg per year. In addition, Feed in Tariff and export income is expected to raise in the region of £3,300 in the first year, all of which saves money which can be put back into the community and houses where Spire have homes. The main benefits of using a renewable energy source such as solar are the savings that can be made in electricity usage plus the reduction in Carbon emissions that can be achieved.
Head of Property Services Mark Rogers, said: “We are also going to add solar panels to our suitable schemes as part of a larger project so that we can reduce our carbon footprint even further. There are many benefits of using solar, and we are pleased to say we are doing our bit for the planet.”
