Children in Brinnington recently took part in a creative competition, run by Stockport Homes, to design a new logo for the Brinnington Tenants’ and Residents’ Association (BTRA).

The competition was really close and saw Jamie Sale win first prize of a brand new bike, which was provided by Repairs 1st and presented by Mark Halstead, Customer and Community Manager for Repairs 1st and Jackson Lloyd. Georgia Nicholson came second and was presented with £25 in high street vouchers. The prizes were presented at the BTRA Annual General Meeting in November, with a hearty hot supper provided by Mary Dutton, BTRA Secretary for all who attended.

Rebecca McAvoy, Customer Involvement Assistant helped to organise the competition and said: “There were some really good logo designs. The children had obviously taken a lot of time and thought over their entries. We hope to involve them with the BTRA in the future too.”

If you’re interested in joining the BTRA, then pop along to the next meeting. Meetings take place the last Thursday of the month at St. Luke’s Church Hall, Brinnington from 6:30pm (there is no meeting in December). The Stockport Homes Neighbourhood Housing Officer will also be available before the meetings from 6pm.
