Langley’s social landlord, Riverside, is offering five apprenticeship opportunities, starting in the new-year, at their new in-house repairs and maintenance service, Evolve.
The apprenticeships offer training, experience, paid employment and a step towards permanent careers.
Those who are unemployed, aged 18 or over, and interested in careers as electricians, joiners or general maintenance operatives, are invited to Demesne Community Centre on the 16th December for an informal chat.
Phil McNabb, Riverside’s employment and training officer, said: “We will support you to achieve your goals with one-to-one support, on the job training from experienced trades people, and a structured route into the construction industry”.
Demesne Community Centre is also setting up a Work Club, providing free confidential advice and support for job seekers.
Support is tailored to suit each individual, with tips on how to prepare CVs, identify vacancies, use job search tools and succeed at job interviews.
Computer and internet facilities are available for searching and applying for jobs, along with postage and other practical resources.
To find out more about apprenticeships and the Work Club, call in to Demesne Community Centre on 16th December, from 12.00 until 2.00 pm.
