Residents have helped select a new company to provide alarm and telecare services at Merlin Housing Society’s supported housing schemes.

The contract has been awarded to CarelineUK and will see the company providing a service to Merlin’s 1,400 supported housing residents.  The contract, which starts on 1 December, was awarded after a six-week tendering process, which residents were involved in throughout.

Service Manager Ruth Lane said: “We believe that residents will receive an improved service now that we have entered into this contract with CarelineUK. We were impressed with the standard of service that CarelineUK can provide and the fact that their staff receive training in our policies and procedures.

“Residents will be receiving a first class service, from a company that has a wealth of experience in providing these services.”

Head of CarelineUK, Carl Atkey said “We’re delighted to be delivering this important service for Merlin’s residents and provide them with the benefit of our 20 year’s experience.”
