Stockport Homes has been announced as a winner in the UK Housing Awards. This was in the ‘Meeting Residents’ Needs and Aspirations’ category for its Skills for Life courses and was presented at an awards ceremony hosted by Michael Portillo at the London Hilton Hotel.
‘Skills for Life’ is a series of free training and learning opportunities for Stockport Homes’ customers. The programme has been developed over five years and gives customers various skills including: managing their tenancies, securing employment, supporting their community groups, using computers effectively and learning first aid.
Samantha Hill, Stockport Homes’ Customer Involvement Manager attended the event and said: “We are elated that we’ve won this prestigious award and it’s great that team members have been recognised for all their hard work. Stockport Homes are passionate about helping customers, not only with their tenancies but also with their wider wellbeing.”
The UK Housing Awards were established in 1997 and recognise excellence across eleven categories.
