Community Hub at Sion Park Halloween Party and Events
It started life as Sion Park housing office but following a recent decision taken by CGA’s Board and local residents, the building has been transformed into a unique community facility called The Hub.
It is used by different organisations for a variety of activities, everything from training to holding community events.
TimeOut, a local residents’ group, hold a range of activities at the centre, which have included a spooky Halloween party attended by young people living in neighbourhoods in the surrounding area.
Don’t be fooled into thinking its all fun and game at The Hub, that couldn’t be further from the truth, there are people learning British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 & 3, and other training courses held include First Aid Training, Food Hygiene and Health & Safety.
Sion Amateur Dramatics have recently performed their production of Murder Mystery on the Titanic and Disability First Lancashire, Musicability, and other local bands are using The Hub for rehearsal space.
Loraine Campbell, Community Development Officer commenting on The Hub said;
“Having this facility has bought the community together. It is great to see the variety of events being held at The Hub.
The facility is open for organisations to hold events and can be used for rehearsals. It is becoming a very popular and sought after facility which is something the community can be proud of."
