Stockport Homes celebrating 3 As
The temporary accommodation and support provided for people who are homeless in Stockport has been rated at the highest ‘A’ standard following inspections from the council’s Supporting People Team.
The schemes for families, single men, and single women have for the second time individually achieved the top rating of ‘A’ following thorough assessments looking at a wide range of factors including resident support, consultation and involvement and health and safety.
Inspections were carried out by Supporting People inspectors along with specially trained customer assessors, who interviewed staff and customers, to ensure that high standards were met or exceeded.
The accommodation schemes are managed for people who are homeless by Stockport Homes who are committed to improving the prospects and outcomes for some of the most vulnerable people in the town.
Simon Welch, Head of Rehousing Services said, “This is a fantastic achievement and Stockport can be proud that it has some of the best services available. Everyone will be concerned about the increasing pressure around homelessness and so we’re working on new initiatives too, such as with dedicated volunteers, to make the greatest difference.”
