Community grants from Dale & Valley Homes

Community groups acrossWearValleyhave been helped by the Better Homes, Better Lives fund.
The fund had agreed awards of almost £3,000 to help six organisations help people in the area.
Projects supported by the fund, which is run by Dale & Valley Homes, include fencing for High Jobs Hill Allotment Association and £500 towards the cost of re-roofing a stand at Willington Football Club.
Several groups for young people also received awards, including Barrington Village Hall playgroup and Wolsingham Youth Club.
The Better Homes, Better Lives fund gives grants of up to £500 to community groups inWearValleyto fund special projects, but does not pay running costs.
Peter Chaffer, chief executive of Dale & Valley Homes, said: “We work with our partners Gentoo and Dunelm Property Services to help as many groups as possible across the area.
“Young people, the elderly, sports and social clubs have all benefited since the fund was launched and we would like to hear from more groups who would like our help.”
