Goldsborough Care has signed an agreement with Riversmead Housing Association and Hertfordshire County Council to provide flexible on-site care and support, 24 hours a day to residents at Riversmead’s flexicare housing schemes’ Bircherley Court and Calton Court in Hertford.

Flexicare is a housing option, which gives older people the reassurance to continue to live independently in their own home.

October 2011 is Supported Housing Month, and Riversmead is supporting this awareness campaign aimed at showcasing the work of the housing sector and promoting the impact services are having throughout the region.

Riversmead, like other housing associations is improving the lives of individuals, and providing much needed support to key public services. This helps to reduce the pressure on the NHS, police and other agencies by providing personalised, preventative support services.

Jackie Trundell, Riversmead’s Neighbourhood Services Manager met with Simon Theobald, Operations Director, Goldsborough Care and Ted Maddex, Senior Commissioning Manager, Herts County Council at Bircherley Court, Hertford to sign this important agreement.

Jackie Trundell commented: “We are delighted to commence this agreement. Flexicare offers residents a home for life, providing a practical alternative to a care home.

“We look forward to continue working with Goldsborough Care and Herts County Council to offer care and support to local people.”

Ted Maddex said: “The new service will enhance the independence of tenants and allow people with a wider range of care needs to make Bircherley Court their home.”

Simon Theobald said: “Goldsborough are delighted to continue their ongoing partnership with Riversmead Housing Association to deliver care and support that increase residents’ quality of life and independence.”
