To mark this year’s World Mental Health Day on 10th October, M&Y, the repairs and maintenance company which has offices in St Helens and Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, provided a healthy breakfast to all staff, to encourage them to eat well, keep in touch and take a break – the themes for the day.
Seventy poached eggs were served at breakfast time and staff could also choose from a selection of fruit to eat later in the day. Most of the operatives usually enjoy a breakfast of fried eggs and bacon at the local cafe before starting work each day.
Director Gill Kelly explained, “M & Y operatives deliver a manual and operational service which can be particularly hard when we come to the cold and wet winter period. We wanted to promote a healthier breakfast of poached eggs on brown rolls to give a slow releasing energy for the guys and girls to physically be able to do their job and keep focused.”
“All of our operatives took part and they all took fresh fruit with them to eat at break time. Everyone understood the message to take a break, eat well and recharge your batteries regularly and the hour long break in the morning and at breakfast was very well received.”
