Axiom’s Market Rasen Foyer decided to enter the  local Lions Club ONLY FOOLS and NO HORSES charity fun run on Sunday 2 October and had a ‘DEL of a DAY!’

When the Market Rasen Lions Club decided to hold a three mile fun run to raise money for good causes, such as Children in Need, Market Rasen Foyer, RNLI, St John Ambulance and Market Rasen Lions Club, residents wanted to take part.

Residents decided to get themselves organised and made their own costumes which included Clayton Barnes dressing up as Batman and Emma Kettle as Robin.

Clayton Barnes (resident) said:

“We decided to make our own costumes and wanted a prop so we built a Trotters Independent Trading van by using a wheelbarrow and surrounding it with cardboard which we then painted yellow. We had so much fun making the van, it was so worth it, because when we arrived at the event we had a wonderful response from everyone.”

“I can’t quite believe, but we even had our own police escort through the town and had newspapers waiting to take pictures. It was like being in a photo shoot surrounded by paparazzi!”

Anita Goodyear (Project Worker) added:

“Residents were brilliant; I am so proud of them. They all took part in a 15 minute warm up which had everyone in absolute stitches people; they were laughing so much it made us all feel very special.”

“BBC Radio Lincolnshire turned up and the trotters van got a mention. The residents felt proud of themselves for such a fantastic achievement.”

Lindsey Moulds (Project Manager) added:

Clayton Barnes, dressed as Batman and pushed the Trotter’s van around; it really was quite amusing. Although we didn’t come first in the fun run, we are very proud of Wayne Gilliatt who lives in the move on flat who came second.   There will be a prize presentation for the winners at a later date to which the residents have been invited.”

“We all had so much fun leading up to the event and the day went really well; its great to see how well our residents were received by everyone; such a proud day for our Foyer”.

Also taking part were:  Jack Millan, Nakita Johnson, Dan Moore, Dan Eagan, Jordan Ansell, Sarah Gilliatt and Lesley
