Soha trains residents for National Customer Service Week

Published by SOHA for Soha Housing Ltd in Housing
Soha Housing is celebrating National Customer Service week by training its younger tenants in customer services skills.
10 young people, not in education, employment or training, have signed up to learn more about working in customer services.
With jobs growing in this sector, Soha wants to help its tenant understand the skills needed to working in a contact centre, or in front-facing customer care jobs.
The young people will also learn about confidentially, health and safety, and handling complaints. They will be given advice on creating CVs and gaining the necessary IT skills. The course is funded by Soha and Oxfordshire County Council.
Reed Employment assisted in a pilot course run earlier in the year and tenants who attended that course were both impressed and motivated by what they learnt.
Maureen Adams, Director of Customer Services and Operations commented: “Having obtained the Customer Services Excellence Standard in 2011, we wanted to share some of what we had learnt with our tenants and give them the chance to think about working in this growing sector’’.
