Congratulations to7 Red Lion Street,Bostonwho has just been awarded an AAAAA excellent rating following a recent QAF assessment.
Axiom’s homeless hostel in Boston, Lincolnshire, which opened in September 2009 and is Boston’s first direct access hostel, has just been assessed as Grade A in all five Core Service Objectives required by the Lincolnshire County Council Supporting People Quality Assessment Framework.
The five areas assessed are:
- Assessment and Support Planning
Security, Health and Safety

Client Involvement and Empowerment
The validation includes a rigorous and robust ‘testing’ of our services over a period of two days, the assessor meets with the Supported Housing Manager, Project Manager, staff team and residents.
Lincolnshire County Council Supported Housing Team advised that when residents were asked about the service and their accommodation they felt that Red Lion Street had been ‘faultless’ and the support excellent. The assessment also included feedback from Axiom’s stakeholders and overall the service was rated as excellent.
Karen Chambers, Supported Housing Manager, said:
“I am delighted withRed Lion Street’s success. It is a fantastic achievement to reach this standard for such a new service. The hostel has really made its mark and become established very quickly withinBostonand has already seen 74 people through its doors with all rooms being fully occupied during this time.
I believe this is down to the hard work and commitment of the staff team who clearly demonstrate the quality of services they deliver. They so richly deserve this validation and really have achieved Axiom’s vision of ‘making a real difference to people’s lives’ ”.
Dick Rawden, the Project Manager, added:
“It is really gratifying for the team to have their hard work recognised in this way; we all work hard to ensure our service users have the best outcomes.
The standard of Axiom’s policies and training that stands behind us has made it possible for us to deliver an excellent service. I am so proud of the whole team who have gone above and beyond to support the most vulnerable people inBostonand the local area.”
