Amity REC launched
A pioneering education centre for people with mental health support needs has been launched by Nottingham-based Amity Health and Wellbeing Centre and Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.
TheRecovery Education Centre(REC) in Sherwood offers free courses to help people learn how to understand, manage and overcome a range of conditions.
Courses vary in length from a single day to several months, and include coping with depression, anxiety management, life coaching and spirituality.
Vicky Standring, team leader at Amity, said: “Through the REC, we want people to fully understand their illnesses and the strategies to overcome them.”
The REC is based at the Amity Health and Wellbeing Centre which provides a safe and secure environment for visitors, offering an extensive range of mental health services.
