Nearly 60 people came together for a charity walk on Sunday in celebration of the life of Jane Pritchard.
Jane, who was Head of Communications at Regenda, died in February this year in a road accident in Tanzania whilst volunteering for Homeless International, a charity which helps people living in poverty.
Family, friends and colleagues of 37-year-old Jane took part in the walk around Rivington, in Bolton. Participants had a choice of two routes – a family friendly two mile path and a more challenging four mile route. Between them they raised over £600 for Homeless International.
Speaking on behalf of Jane’s family, her mother Jean said: “It was a really special day and it was touching to see so many people there. Walking was something Jane really enjoyed, particularly in Rivington which has such beautiful scenery. We thank everyone who attended and made a donation. We never expected people to be so generous with their contributions.”
Bernard Gallagher, Chief Executive at Regenda, said: “Jane was one of a select few, who I can say, it has been a privilege to work with in my career. Inspirational, talented and completely committed to helping others, a perfect fit for our group and what we are all about. The walk was really enjoyable. We avoided the worst of the weather and everyone really got into the spirit of the day – a fitting tribute to Jane.”
