Total Glass, one of the UK’s leading PVC-U and aluminium fabricators, supplied new thermally-efficient PVC-U coloured windows for social housing maisonettes as part of an extensive refurbishment project.

Replacing original steel single-glazed windows, the new dark grey frames were finished in a RAL 7016 shade and give a smart contemporary appearance to the 32 Knowsley Housing Trust homes in Wood Road, Halewood.

Total Glass’ commercial team worked with the project architects on the design and specification of the new casement windows, which were installed by main contractor Bullock Construction.

Energy efficiency of the 1960s properties was further boosted with the addition of a thermal, externally-rendered layer to improve insulation and reduce heating bills. The improvement works, part of KHT’s multi-million pound regeneration scheme in the area, also included new heating systems.
