Merlin launches major recruitment drive

Merlin Housing Society is launching a major recruitment drive to fill 40 new positions in the biggest-ever expansion of its workforce.

The positions are all with the society’s in-house repairs and improvement team, Merlin Works, which is on the lookout for plumbers, electricians, carpenters, plasterers, heating engineers and painter and decorators. There are also a number of managerial and supervisory roles available.

To help fill these positions Merlin is holding a jobs fair at its offices on Thursday 8 September for prospective candidates to find out more about the opportunities.

Winston Williams, Merlin Works’ Managing Director, said: “We want to ensure we have the people with the skills to meet every challenge that we face, rather than have to rely on a contractor. Resident satisfaction with our work has never been higher and residents trust our staff to carry out work in their home quickly and efficiently.

“This fair is a great chance for potential new staff to come along and find out more about the work we do and opportunities that are currently available.

The jobs fair is being held at Merlin’s main offices in Bowling Hill, Chipping Sodbury, on Thursday 8 September from 3pm – 7pm. There will be an opportunity to speak with staff and to complete an application form. Anyone interested should bring their CV along with them.

The vacancies are for: carpenters, electricians, general operatives, heating engineers, painter & decorators, plasters, plumbers, supervisors, quantity surveyors, window/door fitters and a contracts manager.
