13 brand new affordable houses and apartments were made available to local people in Claughton on Brock, Wyre, illustrating successful partnership working between the Regenda Group, Wyre Council, the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and Seddon Construction.

The £1.5million development situated on Beech Close off Garstang Road, consists of 3 bedroom houses and 2 bedroom apartments that are not only modern but are also highly energy efficient.

The new homes, which have been designed to be sympathetic to their rural location, have been allocated to residents of Brock and Catterall through a social rent scheme and were fully occupied within days of their release.

After attending the official hand over, Tracy Heyes, Regenda’s executive director said, “Regenda has worked in partnership with Wyre Council and the Homes and Communities Agency to deliver much needed accommodation for local residents.   We received over 70 applications for these homes and have followed the strict local lettings policy to allocate these homes to people living in Brock and Catterall.

This new build development, which has cost over £1.5million has a number of environmentally friendly features including solar panels which feeds directly into every property to heat their water, a rainwater harvesting system to reduce water consumption, an ultra-efficient gas boiler, improved insulation and double glazing throughout.”

The project demonstrates the Regenda Group’s commitment to continually invest in our neighbourhoods and Wyre in particular, offering affordable housing solutions.”

Garry Payne, Chief Executive of Wyre Council, said: “We are delighted that another high quality registered social landlord scheme has been completed in the borough by Regenda, especially one that provides much needed affordable housing for a local rural community.

“What is particularly pleasing is the way the scheme has been managed, with Seddon Construction building up a strong relationship with neighbours to address any concerns during the building process.”

“Our team has thoroughly enjoyed working with Regenda on this development,” says Jonathan Seddon, managing director of Seddon Construction. “We are proud to be involved in helping to deliver new, high-quality affordable homes for local families.”

The development was funded by a grant of £866,000 from the Homes and Communities Agency.

Regenda works with communities to build a sustainable future.
