A lettings agency set up by London-based homeless charity Broadway has joined forces with the housebuilder Barratt Homes in a bid to procure more properties for its vulernable clients.

Five graduates from Barratt Homes have pledged their time to promote Real Lettings with the aim of attracting new landlords to the agency.

The Broadway initiative already has a key supporter in Phil Spencer, the TV property presenter.

Real Lettings offers vulnerable people the opportunity to secure quality and affordable accommodation. They achieve this by sourcing properties from private sector landlords and leasing them on long term contracts to their tenants.

Phil Spencer, Real Lettings’ patron, said: “The Real Lettings model makes sense for London landlords as it offers long term guarantees on rental income as well as the condition of the property. Guaranteed rent for 3-5 years, no voids, and a complete property management service. What could be better than that?”

Real Lettings currently operates in 19 of the 32 London boroughs but are in need of properties in all areas of Greater London.

Real Lettings Manager Katie Rosengarten commented; “Our collaboration with Barratt is fantastic. Barratt are extremely supportive in promoting what we do and the services we offer to private landlords and our tenants.”

Real Lettings require large studios, one and two bedroom flats and houses. Properties do not need to be fully furnished, in fact, all that is asked is there is good quality flooring, curtains and blinds throughout, and a cooker and refrigerator are both supplied in the kitchen.

The 5 graduates are on the house builder’s graduate development programme in and around London. Barratt Developments graduate Anthony Bradley said: “We are delighted to be helping such a worthy cause and aim to raise as much awareness as possible about a fantastic service which only a small number of landlords are currently aware of!”
