New support for Cirencester’s young people

Young people are staging an open day at their home in Cirencester to celebrate a makeover to their accommodation.

The young people have been giving their garden a facelift, planting up pots and tidying the garden with colleagues from Bromford Support, thanks to funding from Jewsons.

The open day is on Wednesday 10 August between 10.30am and 4.30pm and organisers hope local partner agencies and residents will come along to look round the newly refurbished accommodation and find out more about support and housing for young people in the community.

Margaret Fanstone from Bromford Support said: “ We want people to have the opportunity to meet our customers and find out first hand how our services are helping them to develop life skills and promote independent living, which may in turn lead to securing long term education and employment aspirations as well as getting their own home”.

There will also be an opportunity to meet the Bromford Support team who work locally in delivering the service and who would be happy to chat and answer any questions.

Bromford Support took over running The Croft in January, which offers short-term accommodation and support for homeless young people.

Residents are aged between 16 and 25 and receive high-quality round-the-clock support plus help to secure their own independent tenancies when they are ready to move on.

Bromford Support is also developing a floating support service, which extends beyond the accommodation atAshcroft Roadand reaches out to help other young people with housing related problems across Cirencester.
