Residents on Walnut Tree Estate showed off their competitive sides at a sporting challenge organised by Stockport Homes and supported by Stockport Sports Trust and Stockport Council on Saturday 23 July 2011 as part of the London 2012 Open Weekend supported by BP.

Activities were open to all age groups, with adults getting involved too, including a penalty shootout, sprints, a climbing wall, soft play, painting and free face painting.

Val Percy, Neighbourhood Housing Officer for Walnut Tree Estate said of the event: “It was great to see all the children and adults from the Walnut Tree Estate coming together and getting involved in the activities and sports. The climbing wall proved very popular! The day was a huge success and some of the children asked if we could do it all again next Saturday!”

Adswood and Bridgehall Sports Day is taking place at 1:30pm on 11 August, for more information please call Stockport Homes on 0161 474 4371.
