Shoreline Superstars prove a knockout!

An enthusiastic team from Shoreline Housing Partnership lined up alongside 300 competitors to help smash a £100,000 fundraising record at an annual It’s a Knockout competition.

The Humberston North Sea Lions Club hosted its fifth It's a Knockout event - a replica of the 1970s cult BBC TV show – at Meridian Park, Cleethorpes.

Shoreline Superstars took on 28 teams, water, inflatable washing machines, wet sponges, giant costumes and the English weather – all in the aid of charity – managing to finish a very impressive eighth.

There was plenty of fantastic family fun for spectators too with all proceeds going to local charities including St Andrew’s Children’s Hospice and the Pink Rose Fund.

Shoreline communications advisor Kristina Parker said: "It's such a good day out - and definitely not the usual way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

"We've met lots of people from other organisations while helping to raise plenty of money for local charities.

"And if you ever need a team to steadily carry a tray of giant plastic eggs or find matching socks in a massive inflatable washing machine you know who to call!"
