Everyone was celebrating the arrival of much needed new affordable homes in Eastwood last week.
The site of the derelict former Moon and Stars public house has been transformed into a stunning £5million development of 40 new homes which was visited by local MP Gloria De Piero .
Moon Crescent off Brooklhill Leys Road in Eastwood will provide 32 homes for rent and eight homes for Rent to Homebuy and will be managed by Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA).
The development was funded with a grant of £2,433,000 from the Homes & Communities Agency which was matched by funding of £2,804,895 from NCHA. The energy-efficient homes all meet Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3.
Located within the town centre the scheme addresses identified local housing need by Broxtowe Borough Council who worked in partnership with NCHA to bring the scheme to fruitition. All tenants will come from the housing list of Broxtowe Borough Council.
“We are very pleased to have this fantastic new housing development in Eastwood. It has been built on a derelict pub site and is a credit to the area providing local people with an opportunity to rent or by high quality, low cost homes" said Councillor Milan Radulovic, Leader of Broxtowe Borough Council
