Bourne-based housebuilder Larkfleet Homes (www.larkfleethomes.co.uk), part of the Larkfleet Group (www.larkfleetgroup.co.uk), is helping first time buyers make that exciting but often financially difficult step into homeownership.

The housebuilder – which has developments in areas including Bourne, Donington and Deeping St James in Lincolnshire, Eye in Cambridgeshire and Oakham in Rutland – is offering new homebuyers a chance to take advantage of its Lend a Hand scheme.

The scheme is designed to help first time buyers or people in need of some extra space with a growing family own to their perfect property – even if they do not quite have the funds to cover the sale price. The scheme, available on selected Larkfleet properties, means that homebuyers can own a new home but only pay for part of the cost.

Larkfleet Homes will pay 15 per cent of the property value while homebuyers pay for 85 per cent. Customers then have ten years in which to pay back the 15 per cent. This amount does not incur any interest over the ten years.

This equity share scheme is proving extremely popular with local homebuyers, especially as the government's new first time buyer scheme – FirstBuy – that was announced in March's budget will not come into force until the late autumn.

Homebuyers can take advantage of Larkfleet’s Lend a Hand scheme today.

Megan English, a recent Larkfleet homebuyer, said: “I bought my first property through Larkfleet Homes and used the company’s Lend a Hand scheme. It really made a difference to the buying experience and allowed me to purchase my perfect home which I may not otherwise have been able to afford. Larkfleet’s sales staff were brilliant and helped me along throughout the process.”

Larkfleet Homes managing director Karl Hick commented: “First-time buyers like Megan are extremely important to the housing industry and I am delighted Larkfleet’s Lend a Hand scheme helped her to purchase a property. Larkfleet is dedicated to providing high quality homes that people can afford.”

The high standard of environmental construction of Larkfleet’s properties allows householders to save up to six hundred pounds a year in energy bills. With rising energy costs, new Larkfleet Homes customers will continue to save money year on year.
