SMaRT call centre operator
Being only a phone call away for 2,000 people is an invaluable part of the care and support services that Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA) offers to its vulnerable tenants.
This service has now exceeded expectations and achieved all eight UK modules and the further European Standards accreditation from the Telecare Services Association. This included its call centre service; installation and maintenance of equipment; referral, assessment and support planning for customers; and the quality of care provided by its response team.
NCHA is now one of just a small handful of organisations that has successfully achieved this European standard.
Praised as an "excellent 24 hour support service", the SMaRT (Supported Management and Response Team) centre was recognised as having developed a unique method of meeting service user needs by providing a high quality telecare monitoring service so that service users need never feel alone.
SMaRT has harnessed different types of technology for use by a wide range of vulnerable adults in supported housing. Assistive Technology Packages, remote monitoring and rapid response services are combined to provide a new approach to encourage service users to live independently.
This approach has transformed how NCHA delivers its care and support services, so it can now offer a flexible and immediately responsive team who can provide personalised services to the person in need.
