Housing officer Craig Sams is looking for friends from the Crook. area

Craig is the person from Dale & Valley Homes who looks after the houses and tenants on Watergate estate and at Billy Row and Tow Law, Howden-le-Wear and Oakenshaw.

To improve communications with residents he has stated a Facebook site specifically to let people know what is happening in their area.

He said “We are looking for easy ways to let people know about issues that affect them such as estate inspections, anti-social behaviour, competitions and initiatives.

“Sometimes customers are reluctant to use sites that are covering the whole Wear Valley area because a lot of the content does not apply to them.

“With this new site everything on it is about my area so people are more interested. Also, a lot of people like using facebook and can access it through their phones, even if they don’t have a computer.

“I have already had quite a few people signing up so we have decided to set up a one month trial to see how popular it is. If people find it useful then we could set up sites for other areas.”
