Marlhill Close is officially opened!

Marlhill Close, Offerton is the third new build project to be completed by Stockport Homes. It was officially opened by Barbara King, Stockport Homes' Board Member, Councillor Dave Goddard, Leader of Stockport Council and Mark Hudson, Technical Services Director for Stockport Homes.

Thanks to funding from the Homes and Communities Agency, Marlhill Close is now home to nine new properties; seven x three bedroom houses and two x four bedroom houses. Two of the properties have been purpose built to meet the needs of the disabled tenants.

The properties have been designed to perform highly in terms of environmental sustainability meaning lower energy and water bills for customers.

This scheme has also achieved 'Secured By Design' standards which is the official UK Police flagship initiative supporting the principles of designing out crime.

Councillor Dave Goddard, Leader of Stockport Council commented: “These nine new properties have been built to an excellent standard with the customer in mind every step of the way. It’s been great to see them being built and now to see the finished homes with families living in them”.

Barbara King, Stockport Homes' Board Member said of the new properties: “It was a pleasure to open these new properties and help celebrate with the customers. I hope the families will be very happy in their new energy efficient homes for many years to come.”

Customers, representatives from Stockport Homes, Stockport Council, Offerton Neighbourhood Management Board, Wilkinson Cowan Partnership, TADW Architects and Mansell Construction were there to celebrate the opening.
