Residents that attend the Berrycroft Tenants’ and Residents’ Association, recently met with students from Werneth school to have an interactive Wii bowling session. The session, arranged in partnership with Stockport Homes, was organised to build intergenerational relationships within the area, breaking down barriers between the generations improving perceptions of young people in addition to helping older residents to use IT.

Seven residents attended and played against student members of the school council. The students taught the residents how to use the Wii and play the bowling game.

Nicola Green, Stockport Homes’ Youth Engagement Officer said of the session: “The session was really enjoyable and provided an opportunity for the students and residents to discuss holding a joint event to showcase music, bands and performers within the community. This will build further community relationships and raise awareness of both the work the TRA do and the positive behaviour of young people at the school.”
