Moat’s Stephen Walker takes on Area Business Manager role

South East based housing association, Moat, has appointed current Head of Sales and Marketing, Stephen Walker, as Area Business Manager for the Sevenoaks Area. Stephen has worked at Moat for almost 12 years and will take on responsibilities for his new position gradually over the month of May, taking full responsibility for the Sevenoaks Area on 1 June 2011. 

Stephen joined Moat in 1999 as Customer Services Officer. He has since taken on several roles within the organisation including New Homes Manager, Head of Sales and Marketing and was temporarily seconded to Assistant Director of Sales and Marketing. Stephen has also worked in Moat’s Development and New Business team. 

In his spare time, Stephen is quite the traveller. In recent years he has gone backpacking in Mongolia, Tanzania, the USA and Eastern Europe. This year, he is taking a break from travelling to focus on his TEFL qualification which he hopes to complete in the summer.  

When asked about his new position, Stephen said; “I am looking forward to getting to know a whole new team and challenging myself with this next step in my career. Moat is an organisation moving forward in terms of resident consultation, involvement and empowerment and I’m excited about taking an active role in its future development.”
