Mendip Close is officially opened!

Mendip Close, the second new build project to be completed by Stockport Homes, in Heaton Norris was officially opened by Jane Clayton, Stockport Homes' Board Member and Miss Jang, who is now making herself at home in one of the new properties.

Thanks to funding from the Homes and Communities Agency, Mendip Close is now home to nine new properties:

• two x two bedroom fully wheelchair accessible bungalows;
• five x two bedroom houses; and
• two x four bedroom houses.

The properties have been designed to perform highly in terms of environmental sustainability meaning lower energy bills and water bills for customers.

This scheme has also achieved 'Secured By Design' standards which is the official UK Police flagship initiative supporting the principles of designing out crime.

Representatives from Stockport Homes, Stockport Council, Wilkinson Cowan Partnership, TADW Architects and Mansell Construction were there to celebrate the opening.

Jane Clayton, Stockport Homes' Board Member said of the new properties: 'It's great to see these new properties finished to such a high standard, I'm sure the nine families moving into these properties will feel very at home."
