Joining an exclusive club of just 34 accredited housing providers, Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA) celebrated achieving TPAS Accreditation this week for their Resident Involvement service.
The Tenant Participation Advisory Service acts as a vital hub between tenants, landlords and government helping to create successful relationships. Their accreditation is highly regarded within the sector.
The TPAS Scrutiny panel described NCHA's submission as exceptional and one of the best submitted. The TPAS Scrutiny Panel particularly wanted to recognise the significant ‘solution seeking’ culture evidenced throughout the assessment and the fact that Resident and Service User involvement is high priority for NCHA.
Assistant Director of Housing, Peter Cowley, who heads up NCHA's Resident Involvement team, was not surprised that the Scrutiny Panel found NCHA was an organisation who did not always realise how good they are, in his words "We just get on with it! The benefit to NCHA now we have this award is that our tenants and partners know that we offer good involvement opportunities which allow them to have a say in how NCHA is run."
Director Of Housing, David Richardson, said, " This award gives recognition to the many years of hard work by NCHA staff and residents in working together to improve our services, our homes and our neighbourhoods.
TPAS has stated that NCHA has an established culture supporting tenant involvement in the management of their homes and in delivery of services. This has been built up over many years based on wide ranging resident involvement, from estate level to Board level, with staff totally committed now and in the future to partnership working with our tenants and residents".
A presentation of the award will be made at 11am on Friday 3rd June by TPAS Chief Executive, Michelle Reid to NCHA's Chief Executive Mike Andrews at NCHA's Tenant Roadshow which visits Barton Green that day.
