Shoreline acquires more homes

Shoreline Housing Partnership has taken over ownership of 58 Cleethorpes properties, ensuring it continues to increase its housing stock in North East Lincolnshire.                                                                                                                  

The 58 former Raglan Housing homes comprise of the 34 unit older persons’ Applegarth sheltered scheme as well as 24 bungalows, flats and maisonettes in Cleethorpes.

The successful transfer of the properties to Shoreline marks the first acquisition of property from another provider since the housing association formed.

Shoreline chief executive Tony Bramley said: “While this is a fantastic opportunity for us to increase our housing stock and expand the service we provide to even more local residents, we believe the real benefit should be for the residents concerned who will now have easy access to a very local landlord.

“The transfer has been very successful which is a credit to the employees of both organisations. We thank Raglan for their support and welcome all of our new tenants to Shoreline and hope that they will be very happy with us.”

Raglan chief executive Nicholas Harris said “Our aim is to provide residents with the highest quality services possible and when it is of benefit to our residents we will rationalise our stock.

“In consultation with residents the decision was taken to hand over the ownership of the Cleethorpes properties to Shoreline Housing Partnership. Raglan and the residents believe they will benefit from having a local landlord who is already providing quality locally based services to other properties in the area. We are delighted with the outcome and wish both Shoreline and the residents all the best for the future.”
