Brand new energy efficient homes in Crook are being offered for rent for a second time.

Families looking for a council home in the town will be able to bid for the properties this week (May 19 to 24) when a second group are advertised.

Dale & Valley Homes, which will be managing the homes in Greenside Place, is asking for bids on the five three-bedroomed properties and one two-bedroomed house which are available this time.

Ian Hornsby from the company said: “We are hoping that larger families will be interested in these homes, which are energy efficient and even generate their own electricity.

“Anyone who is registered can bid through the Durham Key Options system, although priority will be given to people connected with the area. These homes will be ready to move into in July.”

The properties will be advertised on the Durham Key Options website and in the regular newspaper between May 19 and 24.
