Genesis merges subsidiaries to create single housing association
Social landlord Genesis has amalgamated its three subsidiary housing associations, PCHA, Springboard and Pathmeads with the parent body, Genesis becoming a single housing association.
It said a key focus for Genesis Housing Association is greater resident involvement.
Regional committees, made up of residents, will scrutinise the services provided, the landlord said. These committees, it added, will form a scrutiny panel which will hold to account the Genesis Board and Executive team. It said the new ways of working will lead to more decision making at a local level.
The association said the new, simplified, Genesis structure will cut down on duplication and bureaucracy saving money which can then be re-invested into frontline services.
Neil Hadden, Chief Executive of Genesis Housing Association, said: “Our residents are the driving force behind how we work and we need to shape how we deliver our services around their needs. The creation of Genesis Housing Association allows us to make quicker decisions that will see us deliver a better service. This new structure puts us in a positive place for the future and I’m greatly optimistic that these changes will help Genesis thrive.”
