Angie was nominated by Kay Mitchell and Roger Dickings, tenants from Wellington Way in Market Deeping near Peterborough.
Kay Mitchell said:
"Angie has been a godsend. She is always there when we need her and is so easy and friendly to talk to. She always asks after us, as we are both in poor health. We feel that Angie has taken a personal interest in us, which we are so grateful for".
"Both Roger and I are so pleased that she won".
The Annual Pride in Peterborough Awards pay tribute to Peterborough's local heroes i.e. those people who make Peterborough a terrific place to live and work. The Community Spirit Award recognises someone who has made a positive difference and who puts in extra effort to serve their local community.
Angie Noble, COMMUNITY SPIRIT WINNER, said:
"It was a great night, especially meeting the other nominees and hearing what they had done. I hadn't even got over the shock of being nominated, so when I won I was stunned. I don't event remember walking on stage to collect my award."
"All I know is that I burst into tears as soon as I sat back down! It was very emotional and I would like to thank the people who nominated me and everyone who voted. I feel honoured".
The Pride in Peterborough Awards event was hosted by Tricia Penrose (Heartbeat, Coronation Street and The Royal actress and singer) who after the ceremony said:
"I have been really looking forward to hosting the Pride in Peterborough Awards. Pride is such a healthy and positive message to give in these challenging times".
"I'm so pleased to have been invited to be involved with these wonderful awards and have met some truly amazing people here tonight."
The awards are held to honour all those people who do remarkable things, but don't expect anything in return. Some great stories of unselfish acts were heard on the night which moved many of the audience to tears.
Angela Robinson, Axiom Communications Manager, said:
"I would like to thank both Kay and Roger for putting Angie forward for these awards. There are many people living in our city and the surrounding areas who do so much for others; I am delighted that Angie has been recognised in this way."
Congratulations to Angie Noble from all the staff and Board of Axiom Housing Association.
