Julian Wetherall promoted to Total Glass Managing Director
Total Glass Director Julian Wetherall has been appointed Managing Director of the Liverpool-based PVC-U and aluminium window and door fabricator. His promotion follows the death from cancer on March 26th of Paul Ierston, who had held the role since January 2008.
Julian joined the Total Glass management team as Director in 2006 with responsibility for the company’s finances. In the last five years, his role has expanded to encompass business development and to grow further the firm’s focus on supplying a complete fenestration and door service to the social housing market.
Commenting on his promotion, Julian said: “While I am delighted to be taking over as Managing Director of Total Glass, it is tempered with sadness following Paul’s passing away. I’m sure Paul would have wanted business to continue as normal and I will certainly endeavour to live up to these expectations.
“Total Glass is a very successful and dynamic company and I look forward to playing my part in furthering its achievements in the future.”
Total Glass founder and Total Group MD, Frank Deary said: “Julian is a valuable and hard-working member of our management team. He is a worthy successor to Paul, who will be fondly remembered for his long-standing contribution in making Total Glass the company it is today.”
It was beef burgers that brought Julian to the window industry. After selling his award-winning McDonalds franchise in the North West seven years ago to pursue other business interests, he was introduced to Frank through a mutual contact. “That was the start of my new career - I went from burgers to bar lengths!” added Julian.
