Co-regulation in practice – workshops by tenants for tenants

Tenants of Soha Housing, one of the 10 TSA co-regulation champions, will be holding two Summer workshops to share their experience.

Landlords’ officers and tenants are invited to hear how, building on 3* resident involvement (as identified at Short Notice Inspection in 2009), Soha tenants led on the reorganisation of existing structures and developed a new Tenant Scrutiny Group.

Resident Nasreen Razaq Al-Hamdani of Oxford says, “We have a clear remit to hold Soha to account.  We check service delivery – not just the process and performance but the fundamentals, too – whether the service is right for residents.”

The workshops, which will take place at Soha’s offices in Didcot, Oxfordshire, on Thursday 9 June and Friday 8 July cost £100 + VAT for officers and £50 + VAT for residents and include lunch.  There are some free places for residents who need them.  Bookings are now being taken online at www.soha.co.uk, by phone on 01235 515 900 or by email on events@soha.co.uk.
