NEW Charter Housing Trust celebrated its 11th birthday with a triple gold medal win.
New Charter Homes, the group’s Building Company and Nottingham based Gedling Homes who joined the group in 2008 have all been awarded the highest possible accolade by the world’s leading health and safety organisation.
The Royal Society for the prevention of accidents (RoSPA) gold award recognises occupational health and safety management systems and culture, outstanding control of risk and very low levels of error, harm and loss.
This is the fourth award for New Charter Homes, the third for the Building Company and the second for Gedling Homes.
News of the win was received in the same week that New Charter celebrated its 11th birthday. New Charter’s Director of People Christine Amyes, said: “The run-up to our eleventh year has been extraordinary. We were recently named 16th best company in the Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For and given a special award for training and development.
“It’s excellent news that our group-wide approach to managing risk has been recognised with the Gold award. Good health and safety is good business and for New Charter, it is fundamental to our growing success.”
Health and safety advisor Lee Roylance added: “We are happy to put our health and safety record under the microscope of RoSPA, although we constantly monitor our own performance. Our work spans an immense area of potential risk from lone working of staff through to manual handling and construction.”
The award will formally be collected on May 17th at the RoSPA ceremony at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole Hotel.
