Paul Ierston
It is with great sadness that the management and staff of Total Glass announce the death of their Managing Director, Paul Ierston, who passed away peacefully aged 40 on Saturday March 26th 2011 after a two and a half year battle with cancer. He will be very sorely missed by all who knew and worked with him.
A hugely popular and respected figure in the PVC-U and aluminium window and door industry, Paul was promoted from Operations Director to his MD role in January 2008, having worked for Total Glass since leaving school. He leaves a wife Vicky and two young children, Alfie, seven and four-year-old Ava.
Total Glass founder and Group Managing Director, Frank Deary said: “Paul was a great man and a pure gentleman, as well as a true friend. He was one of our original employees, showing tremendous loyalty and commitment as he progressed through the ranks from office junior to MD. It was a pleasure to have known him for more than 25 years. The bravery and courage that he showed over the last two and a half years was a real measure of the man – he was an inspiration to us all.
“We are all devastated at losing Paul and very proud of what he has achieved in his short life. Our thoughts and sympathy go out to his wife Vicky and family at this very sad time.”
Paul’s funeral took place on Friday April 1st at Springwood Crematorium, Allerton, Liverpool and was attended by more than 500 people drawn from family, friends, staff, customers and suppliers. Any donations to the Walton Neuro Science Fund, c/o Total Glass, would be gratefully received. Contact Total Glass on 0151 549 2339.
