The Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA) and the Scottish equivalent, the Regulation of Investigatory Powers (Scotland) Act (RIPSA) are complex pieces of legislation. (All further references to RIPA also include RIPSA).
The act provides clear statutory guidance and compliance requirements to relevant public bodies, who are allowed under the act to participate in all manner of covert activities to investigate matters within their jurisdiction.
The brand new RIPA Academy, launched today as part of the CSP Academy (www.cspcademy.ac.uk), contains a comprehensive programme of qualifications and training aimed at those whose are either bound by RIPA or who wish to implement its principals within their organisation.
The RIPA academy and the qualifications & training it contains will bring practitioners in any organisation to the operational standards expected of relevant authorities.
The qualifications and training are especially relevant to housing providers who wish to bring their operational practice in line with the code of practice for client and organisational protection.
The following qualifications and training are only available from this academy for further details of each qualification please visit the RIPA Academy website www.cspacademy.ac.uk/RIPAAcademy.htm
