Axiom residents are celebrating their success at being shortlisted for the TPAS 2011 TEAM OF THE YEAR AWARD under the Central Region. Angela Robinson, Axiom Communications Manager, submitted an application in support of Axiom's Team of Conductors in recognition of the sterling work that they did with the production and design of the Annual Report for Tenants 2009/2010.

Axiom's Tenant Report 'In Tune with Tenants' was produced entirely with the support of 11 tenants affectionately named as 'conductors'. They provided inspiration for the theme, chose a dedicated tenant photographer, wrote much of the script and showed real enthusiasm and willingness to get involved at every level of the report's production.

The 'conductors' even learned new skills along the way!

Inspiring relations between tenants and staff is very much at the heart of Axiom's Resident Inclusion strategies. The process of creating their annual report for tenants has proved to be a best practice model for internal relationship management between the Communications Manager, Axiom Residents Forum and those tenants who wish to become involved in the work of PR, marketing and communications.

George Wood, tenant from Charlton Court, was given the role of photographer and said:

"What a great experience, I was able to utilise my skills both in taking photographs and checking that the report was written simply and in plain English.

If I can understand it then anyone can, that was my moto!"

Jan Eadie, tenant from Ramsey, said:

"I've been working on the editorial team for years and felt truly valued during the whole process. It was a fantastic team experience and I am looking forward to doing another one this year".

Angela Robinson, Axiom Communications Manager, said:

"It's not just about picking the brains of our tenants; it's about giving them something back in return.

On numerous occasions we worked live with a laptop and projector in our board room which gave tenants the opportunity learn new IT skills and ask questions at the same time".

Jackie Rice, tenant from Martin Court, Werrington, Peterborough, added:

"We worked with Angela whilst she was writing, amending, inserting images as well as editing the original document on a projector screen.

We all learned a lot of new computer skills; I was amazed at what can be done. Me and my husband John are practicing the new skills we have learned and are now keen to develop them even more".

Tenants will be joining Axiom at the Awards Ceremony on 1 April in Birmingham. Should they be successful, they will go forward to the National Finals later in the year.
