Stadium Housing Association’s Tudor Rose Court, the only mixed tenure retirement scheme in the City of London, scooped a bronze award for its new computer suite in the 2011 National Housing for Older People Awards, in the best UK digital inclusion category.

Run by the Elderly Accommodation Counsel (EAC), the awards recognise specialist housing schemes which are the best in their field. Tudor Rose Court was one of 34 winners nominated by more than 3,500 residents from across the UK.

Stadium’s head of supported housing and agency services Pali Panesar said: “The residents should be congratulated not only for winning the award but for getting the whole project off the ground. Because of their determined efforts, everyone at Tudor Rose Court has the chance to learn how to enjoy the freedom of the web and keep in touch with their families through email.”

Chief executive of EAC John Galvin said: “We were delighted to be able to celebrate with such a wide range of winners and thank every resident who took part in the nomination process and made this day possible. These awards not only recognise excellent standards in retirement housing, but are about involving older people in shaping its future, starting with those who live in it.”
