Community Gateway Association (CGA) is one of 10 successful organisations named by the Tenant Services Authority to be a Co-Regulatory Champion.
The competition for co-regulatory champions launched in November, the TSA received 64 applications. A panel comprising TSA staff, Jon Warnock from TPAS and Jessica Crowe from the Centre for Public scrutiny assessed the applications.
CGA’s application focused on the core principles of the Gateway Model. As an alternative method of Co-Regulation that puts tenants and communities at the heart of the organisation.
Scrutiny and Resident Involvement are incorporated into the rules of the association. As Champions, members of the Gateway Tenants Committee along with colleagues will host Champions events through the year to highlight how this method has delivered real change to residents and communities across Preston.
Karen Perry Head of Community Empowerment at CGA commenting on the announcement, “We are extremely proud to be a Co-Regulatory Champion. It is fantastic recognition for the residents who were involved in writing our application. Our Champions Tour will highlight the work completed over the last 5 years and will show how the Gateway Model is an alternative way of delivering the principles of Co-Regulation.
TSA Assistant Director, Tenant Excellence, Graeme Foster said,”We were pleased to receive so many excellent applications from providers demonstrating the strength of co-regulation across the country. The ten selected champions will help to build on this work and support others in developing their co-regulatory approach.
Through their Gateway Tenant Committee, (GTC), Community Gateway will hold events and visits to other organisations followed by coaching sessions to demonstrate their successful approach to an alternative model of co-regulation."
