Switched On – Illuminated Light Switch helps customer

Community Gateway Associations property services team working in partnership  with the Disability Focus group are helping provide solutions for residents with specific needs in their homes.

One of its members, Mr Fishwick mentioned how he was experiencing a problem locating light switches especially when it is dark. CGA offered to carry out research in order to see if there is anything on the market, which could help with this issue.

After browsing the internet, the team found a great product that has an illuminated faceplate emitting light when the switch is in the off position.

CGA informed him about the product and he agreed to trial it in one room in his bungalow. Installed at a very small cost in both labour and materials, this alteration has provided peace of mind and has helped reduce the risk of falls proving it has been very successful.

Mrs Fishwick commented saying, “The switch is brilliant, it is well positioned and has made a huge difference to us”.
