Families affected by natural disasters in Pakistan and Mexico have a place to sleep and essential provisions thanks to the fund raising efforts of 2nd Ware Mowgli (St Mary's) Cub pack.

For the past 10 months the Cubs have raised money for Rotary International’s shelter box scheme. The scheme sends boxes of supplies, which includes a tent, cooking equipment and blankets, to people around the world in need of help.

With a £200 donation from Riversmead, as well undertaking other fund raising activities, the Cubs raised almost £1000 enabling them to fund two shelter boxes.

Chris Wright, Riversmead's Director of Housing, said: “Well done to the Cubs and the pack leaders - it is a tremendous achievement! We were very pleased to support their fund raising efforts and such a worthwhile cause."

Each year Riversmead supports a number of community projects and initiatives through our dedicated community investment fund. Ideas for projects come from residents’ suggestions and work with partners such as the local council and police.
