Brand new apartments snapped up by Shoreline
Shoreline Housing Partnership has snapped up a highly-anticipated, innovative apartment block at Grimsby’s ultimate housing-led regeneration project.
Part-funded by the Homes and Communities Agency, the further investment increases the social landlord’s financial commitment to the Freshney Green redevelopment by over £1 million.
The 15 modern, two-bedroom apartments at the heart of the neighbourhood will provide accessible housing for older people and those with a disability.
The spacious apartments take into account high-levels of energy efficiency and incorporate a range of user-friendly features including:
- level access showers
- communal kitchen and lounge areas
- designated parking
- a secure scooter recharging garage
- secure door entry system
- lift to all floors
From a two-year consultation process involving the local community, the area has come a long way since its days as the ‘Yarborough’ estate, with the 440-home redevelopment voted top in the Best Joint Venture Scheme category at the 2009 What House? Awards.
Shoreline head of neighbourhood investment Danny Buckley said: “We’re really proud of the partnership we’ve developed with Stamford Homes to create Freshney Green and purchasing these apartments is another step in ensuring we meet the varying needs of our neighbourhoods.
“These apartments will provide modern homes that meet the needs of our residents so they can continue to enjoy independent lifestyles for years to come in this transformed community.”
Stamford Homes sales director Steve Woomble said: “We are delighted to be working with Shoreline Housing Partnership. Our ability to provide these apartments once again re-affirms our commitment to Freshney Green and its residents.”
The first Shoreline tenants are expected to move into the apartments later this month.
