Residents of Ancenis Court sheltered housing scheme in Kirkham have raised over £700 for local children’s charity, Donna's Dream House.

Dedicated residents of the 34 self-contained apartments on School Lane, Kirkham recently held a number of coffee and bacon barm mornings along with a prize raffle to help raise money for the children’s charity which helps provide free holiday experiences for children and teenagers with life-threatening illnesses.

Irene Eccles, Ancenis Court Scheme Manager, said: "It is a fantastic amount to raise the residents enthusiasm never faulted throughout and we were delighted when we added up the final amount.”

A cheque was presented to Len Curtis, who set up the charity in memory of his daughter, Donna. Len said: “We are delighted with the money raised. It will be extremely helpful in enabling more children and teenagers to come and visit Donna's Dream House and experience a holiday they will never forgot.

"We are a volunteer run charity and all donations help us to continue our hard work in capturing some happy memories for children.”

The money raised by the residents of Ancenis Court will enable families to go on holiday to Donna's Dream House and enjoyed a much needed break away.

Ancenis Court is one of New Fylde Housing's sheltered housing schemes, which provide older residents with comfortable, manageable and secure homes of their own. New Fylde Housing also provides high quality affordable homes to communities in Fylde and across the North West.
