BTEC Advanced Award in Neighbourhood Nuisance and Anti-Social Behaviour Case Working (BTEC Level 3)

This qualification will enable candidates to confidently recognise, understand and use the full range of intervention tools and legislative powers available to tackle anti-social behaviour, to exchange information and data, learn case management skills and how to gather evidence and present it in court. The programme will also enable the candidate to understand the diverse network of organisations that provides assets, resources and powers in the anti-social behaviour arena.

The qualification is also designed to ensure that those who work with communities to tackle anti-social and nuisance behaviour undergo a familiarisation process to gain the required knowledge base to be an effective ASB case worker.

"The BTEC qualification has supported my ability to work more effectively in my organisation and the community. Following the successful completion of the course I have gained skills to manage neighbourhood nuisance in a more effective manner. I now operate a more reactive approach enabling an easier way to monitor the stages of an incident or case". ASB Case Worker -  Registered Social Landlord - South West England

BTEC Professional Award in Neighbourhood Nuisance and Anti-Social Behaviour Case Work Supervision (BTEC Level 5)

Within the UK and beyond many organisations use a wide range of informal, formal, civil and criminal tools and legislative powers to tackle, moderate or stop anti‐social and nuisance behaviour (ASB), which causes alarm, harassment and distress to the community.

These organisations often are legally required to work and share information in a joint agency performance target environment or in the practical operational case building setting.

These organisations can range from Housing Providers (public and private) to Local Authorities and Police forces. These varying organisations have different capabilities, expertise and training regimes in place to equip their senior investigative managers and staff.

This qualification is about the management of such investigation teams as the strategic lead person in any organisation. It is intended for those staff who have been appointed as the Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) or who manage such people. By its nature it also covers higher level skills and knowledge needed to manage the teams that conduct volume investigations in ASB.

"This qualification allowed me to establish where any potential problems lie between agencies with respect to information sharing and how these can be addressed. I attend weekly multi-agency meetings and have been able to challenge those that do not work as fluently as part of this partnership on the basis of what I learnt on the course." The course covers what restorative justice is, how to create strategies and systems, how to implement restorative justice approaches, the setting up of referral and delivery systems as well as working in partnership to deliver restorative justice in your area or organisation.
